This is my youngest newborn to date. Little “R” was a champ but didn’t want to sleep for me until the very end of the session.

For just being 12 days old, she was super alert!

I told her mom and dad this is the face she will use when she doesn’t get her way! (Snicker)

Alert and STRONG!

Shhhh. Sleep little baby, sleep.

First Wedding of the Year!

Wow and what a pleasure it was to work with these two families! This was also my first experience in shooting an Indian wedding. Everyone was so nice and happy to answer my questions regarding the various aspects of this important day.

There were many details (and you all know that I love shooting details) that were beautiful to capture. Gifts given from one family to the other.

Their rings are gorgeous.

Meet Brandt and Tiffany. I had the pleasure of meeting them in their home of a combination maternity/family shoot.

Here are their two little ones and a new baby expected before the end of this month!Tiffany is partial to black and white image. Don’t worry Tiffany, I’ve got them all in color and black and white.

Year of the Tiger…Chinese New Year

Oklahoma City got to celebrate on Saturday February 6, 2010. Oklahoma Cities down town library.

The day’s events included dancing.

Of course a lot of cute kids..

Outside we were treated to a dance featuring drums and dragons.

I’m not sure of the role for this character, but he certainly was not afraid of the two dragons.

Well, this little girl also was great at charming the dragon.

Back inside I was impressed with the artwork of so many!

This is a member with the Japanese association. I’ve met her at a few other ASO functions. Very nice lady!

It takes a lot of practice to learn to paint in Photoshop and I’m giving it the old college try. I typically paint every day for an hour or two. What is so amazing is that many “ordinary” photos can become beautiful paintings!

My first appointment of the new year was on 01-01-10! Another local photographer and I got together for some practice in OKC’s Brick town and “L” was our willing model that day.

I have to say this girl was a great sport. Brandi and I put her through the paces with order like, “no tilt your head more this way”, “smile”, “now smile, no teeth” and lots of fun head wear!

Nothing was a problem for “L”. Not even the cold! I think we had a blistering high of 40 degrees that day. Burr!

Look closely at these last two photos. The first you’ll see is just a photo, the second is the photo after it’s been painted. Wow, I’m loving painting in a big way. Enjoy!

Painting Photos in Photoshop (It’s Addictive…in a good way)

With down time from weddings and studio shooting, I’m learning something new: painting in photoshop! It’s fun!

Here is the simple shot I started with. This is my deaf Dalmatian, Zoe. She will pose for me all day long (well, pretty much…compared to the other dogs!)

And this is what I came up with. I still need practice, but I will keep at it and eventually offer it to my clients! Woo Hoo!

Here is my other Dal, Kia. She is not crazy about the camera, but once in a while I get lucky and get a cute shot.

Here she is painted.

Of course this set would not be complete without our newest fur child, Ling (doesn’t he look like a Panda?).

And after a round of smudge painting in CS2.

Help Portrait Oklahoma City 12-12-09

Wow, what an amazing idea: give people who wouldn’t normally have the means or opportunity to have their portraits made at no cost. If you haven’t heard of this, please visit the Help Portrait website.

I first heard about this a blog from the well known One Light master, Zack Arias. About 6 weeks ago I signed up to join other Oklahoma City (and surrounding areas) photographers and volunteers.

What a great turn out! We had so many giving souls show up. While I’m not able to share any of the photos of our subjects (to respect their privacy), I would like to share with you a few of the photogs who helped make this a great event:

What can I say? Beautiful location for a gorgeous couple! Cole’s Garden, in Oklahoma City, was a gorgeous backdrop for this wedding.

As you can tell, I love the details. Her ring is stunning!

Of course I love the details within the details.

Her Grandma’s ring has been artfully woven into the grosgrain ribbon on her bouquet. (Flowers and center pieces by Tanna Donalson).

Look who is proud as can be! (Logan’s Mom, if ya couldn’t guess).

Woo hoo Pam. You go!

As they departed, the guest’s gave them a sparkling send off!

Knock Knock Night!

For many years Quail Springs Church of Christ has hosted a night of fun, food and of course treats for the kids in October. Of course everyone was encouraged to dress up. The teens came as characters from Alice in Wonderland.

Super hero crime fighters were in abundance.

The food included a lot of yummy homemade chili. And there were delicious sweets as well!

Lots of variety in the costumes kept my job very interesting!

This little guy was a doll (he’s a magician).

We had a blast. Check us out again next year!
